American super cars are very influenced by european supercars. The most obvious example would be the Saleen S7 which is based on the McLaren F1. Saleen are produced in several parts of America as they also specialize in modified American Muscle cars. McLaren is a german company owned by Mercedes, a German company. The McLaren F1 was formerly the fastest street legal production car in the world, holding this record from 1994 to 2005. Althoough owned by a German company it was engineered, produced and founded as a British Group that, among others, owns the McLaren Mercedes Formula One team.
